　　Communication University of China（CUC）is a key university directly under the Education Ministry of the People’s Republic of China; devotes herself to education media professionals and conducting scientific researches in the field of radio, TV, film, network and publishing. Communication University of China（CUC）is the highest learning institute of communication in China.
　　International College for Chinese Language Studies of Communication University of China possess a faculty of professional and experienced teachers who engaged in Chinese language teaching, most of whom major in foreign Chinese, Chinese linguistics and literature or broadcasting. These teachers are granted Foreign Chinese Teaching Qualification Certificate by National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language; some of them have National Mandarin Level Examiner Certificate. Some teachers are graduated from the Department of Announcing and Hosting Arts of the CUC; therefore they are specialized in Chinese pronunciation and have a special way of teaching Chinese as a second language. Besides, many of our teachers were announcers or hosts in radio and TV stations and also have rich experiences in teaching Chinese Pronunciation and Chinese Linguistics. Consequently, they have accumulated a rich store of successful experiences and found out a number of effective methods in teaching Chinese as foreign language, especially in pronunciation correction. This way, International College for Chinese Language Studies has the advantage of targeting chronic areas of problems and strengthening standard pronunciation. Also，this advantage stands alone in other teaching Chinese as foreign language departments in China.

　　Putting emphasis on educational quality all along, International College for Chinese Language Studies arranges the curriculum according to social need and language requirement, whose general principle is to display its characteristics. 2. Chinese Language Course

I．Required Chinese Courses
　　According to overseas students’ situations, we set elementary course class, transitional course to intermediate class, intermediate class, transitional course to advanced course and advanced class. The required courses are as follows:
　　Elementary Class: Elementary Chinese, Speaking, Listening Comprehension
　　Intermediate Class: Intermediate Chinese, Listening and Speaking, Reading Comprehension, Writing
　　Advanced Class: Advanced Chinese, Advanced Spoken Chinese, Listening Comprehension, Writing, Journalism reading, Chinese Culture, Contemporary China

II. Optional Courses Concerning Language
　　A variety of optional courses concerning language are provided for overseas students in CUC, which enables International College foe Chinese Language Studies to take advantage the institute academic superiority according to actual needs of students. Optional courses are as follows:

　　Language Optional Courses: Chinese Pronunciation-Correction Course, Reading Poetry Courses, Chinese Characters Course, Commercial Chinese, Journalism Chinese, Chinese Idioms and Phrases, etc.
　　Cultural Optional Courses: In view of overseas students’ requirements to understand Chinese culture, we set a series of optional courses to improve overseas students’ cultural potentials, which includes: the Appreciation of Chinese Literature Works, Chinese Culture, Chinese Folk-Custom, Chinese Calligraphy, etc.

III. HSK Assistance Courses
　　HSK is a National Standard Examination established in China with a view to examining those whose native language is not Chinese. Chinese Qualification Certificate may serve as the credential with which an overseas student is capable of studying in Chinese university or proceed to his or her Master or Doctor degree. It can also serves as testimony to show that one’s Chinese level has reached a particular degree or to be free from taking Class degree Chinese Courses. It can also be the referential credential for a particular institution to hire staffs who speak Chinese.
　　In order to help overseas students to get a good performance, we make a thorough research on HSK and prepare to set the following courses for those students who will sit for HSK:
　　HSK Grammar, HSK Writing Course, HSK Spoken Language, HSK Comprehensive Exercise,etc.

IV. Lecture Courses
In order to help overseas students to understand China more and enrich their Chinese and Culture knowledge concerning China, we set lecture courses for overseas students, which will refer to a variety of subjects, and some experts in the respective field will hold the forum. The Curriculums are as follows:
Contemporary Chinese Film, Traditional Medicinal Knowledge, Chinese Trappings Culture, Chinese Ancient Poetry and Ci, Chinese Folk Music, Taichi, Peking Opera, etc.

V. Practical Activities concerning Language
　　International College for Chinese Language Studies organizes all kinds of colorful extracurricular activities and provides different opportunities for overseas students to practice Chinese. The options are as follows,
　　(1). Visit Hotong, let students know the history of traditional Beijing.
　　(2). Visit museums, memorials, theaters and Olympic Gyms. Get to know the cultural Beijng.
　　(3). Paying visits at Chinese families and some rural districts characterized with Chinese folk-custom.
　　(4). Travel to some well-known scenic spots such as Great Wall and etc.
　　(5). Organize a variety of festival parties to enrich overseas student’s life.
　　(6).Help to strengthen the bond between overseas students and Chinese students. It will help overseas students with their Chinese language studies and understand China more
　　(7).Meanwhile, we provide sport equipments to overseas students and organize sport game with Chinese students, such as Ping-Pong, basketball game and football game, etc.
　　(8). The computer in the multimedia classroom can be used for free.

VI. Courses arranged in short-term Class
　　Short-term classes are directed at meeting overseas students’ different language requirements fully according to their levels and patterns. The duration of short-term class is different which depends on different demands. The tuition fee will be charged according to the tuition criterion of the CUC.

VII. Preparatory Courses for further study.
　　International College of Chinese Language Studies is a bridge for you to continue your further study in the CUC. After your Chinese obtains a certain level, you can apply for the degree study at the CUC or other universities. The teacher will be happy to help you with your application.
　　(1).Further study in the CUC
　　Many academic college, such as Announcing and Hosting Arts, Journalism, Radio and Television Production, Advertising, Photograph, Animation and etc, are all in the leading position in media research field. After the students get a certain level in Chinese from International College of Chinese Language Studies, they can go for their further studies in the CUC. To help overseas students get into different academic departments, International College of Chinese Language Studies set up a preparatory class for Chinese language and cultural, which assists overseas students to get into further academic studies.
　　(2). Preparatory class to other universities
　　International College for Chinese Language Studies is preparing to set up the preparatory class for applying other renowned university in China. There are hundreds overseas students enter Beijing University , the People’s University of China, Qinghua University and other distinguished universities in 2006. We will set this course for overseas students according to their requirements.
